Distribution of
garages pre-fab concrete
The prefabrication industry has become one
of the major successes of the steel industry in recent times.
The act of prefabrication refers to a situation when the
individual parts in a design are fabricated at a factory or
manufacturing location, and then transported to the end-site
where they are assembled into the finished product. This method
of building a structure has a number of benefits over the
traditional way of doing things, however, the act of
transporting large fabricated parts can at times be
problematic. One of the major players in the prefabricated
steel industry are the companies who are manufacturing pre-fab
concrete garages (Beton Fertiggaragen). How well such
companies manage to deal with the inherent problems
introduced by the transportation of their garages has a lot
to do with their level of success.
The prefabricated garage industry differs in
many ways from the old methods of building garages and
carport structures. The traditional method
of garage construction involved building the basic
components into a finished product on-site, meaning that the
builders only needed to transport small basic materials onto
the building site, that would later be built into the end
product. While the methods behind prefabrication can save
both manufacturers and customers a lot of money and time,
there are new problems introduced through the act of
transportation and the safe delivery of these pre-built
components. A successful company needs to put a lot of
energy into the distribution arm of its business in order to
be sure that it can gaurantee an intact and on time delivery
service.
Transportation can be an expensive and
problematic business, and when that transportation includes
large steel components - the number of problems that can arise
is even greater. While the production process gets more
simplified with the new model of prefabrication, the
distribution model can become much more complicated as a
result. How well a prefabricated garage business deals with
these problems is one of the major measures that will determine
their long term success.
